Based on some of our inquiries, some people think that that their furnace and boiler are one and the same. That’s not the case. There are certain instances when the boiler performs the same function as a furnace, but largely, there are two separate things. This post will help to clarify the difference, and also what to keep in mind about your boiler.

Furnaces are typically the system in your home that does the space heating. In some homes and offices, a boiler will create the heat that passes through pipes and to a radiator. Sometimes the radiator is a big and cast iron, and at other times it runs lengthwise alongside your floorboards.
Typically, people use the word furnace to describe their forced air central heating system.
