Interior & Exterior Lighting
Good lighting changes how a home feels — and bad wiring or a failed fixture can make it a hazard. Done’s electricians have been helping Denver metro homeowners upgrade, repair, and install lighting since 1999. Whether you want recessed LED cans throughout your main floor, a statement chandelier in the dining room, or motion-activated lights on the garage, we do the wiring right and leave no mess behind.
We handle the full range of residential lighting work: new fixture installations, recessed lighting layout and installation, under-cabinet lighting, dimmer wiring, and outdoor landscape and security lighting. Pair your lighting upgrade with smart home controls and you can dim, schedule, and automate every light in the house from your phone. Call 833-539-9153 to get started.
When to Call
Some lighting issues are purely cosmetic. Others point to wiring problems behind the wall. Here's how to tell the difference.
A bulb that flickers occasionally might just need to be replaced. Flickering that continues with a new bulb — or that happens in multiple rooms — usually points to a loose connection, a failing switch, or a panel issue that needs diagnosis.
If a ceiling light or wall sconce goes completely dark and new bulbs don't fix it, the fixture itself may have failed, the switch could be faulty, or there may be a wiring break in the circuit.
A buzzing light fixture often means the wrong bulb type for a dimmer switch, a failing ballast in a fluorescent fixture, or a loose wire vibrating at the connection. Any persistent buzzing is worth having checked.
Recessed cans and enclosed fixtures that get extremely hot are usually over-lamped — bulbs with too high a wattage. This degrades the fixture and can cause nearby insulation to deteriorate. A quick fixture or bulb swap fixes it.
What We Do
Done covers the full range of residential lighting — indoors and out — for Denver metro homeowners.
How It Works
We keep lighting projects efficient and tidy so your home is brighter — with minimal disruption to your day.
Call 833-539-9153 or schedule online. Tell us what you're looking to install or fix, and we'll send the right electrician with the tools and common parts for your project.
For recessed lighting and larger projects, we discuss placement, spacing, and switch locations with you before cutting a single hole — so the finished result matches your vision.
Our electricians run any necessary wiring, install boxes, hang fixtures, and make all connections to code. We work neatly and protect your floors and furniture while we work.
We test every fixture on every switch before calling the job done, then walk you through how everything operates — especially if smart controls or dimmers are part of the install.
Save on the work your home needs most.

A common starting point is one recessed light per four to six square feet of ceiling, but the right answer depends on the room’s ceiling height, the trim type, the beam angle of the bulb, and how bright you want the space. Our electricians will walk through the room with you and recommend a layout before we cut a single hole.
We can minimize drywall work by fishing wire through existing cavities and using remodel-style recessed housings that install from below. In some cases we can add lights with very limited patching. In others, a small amount of drywall access is unavoidable. We’ll tell you honestly what your ceiling requires before we start.
Most dimmer buzzing is caused by a mismatch between the dimmer and the bulb type — particularly when LED bulbs are used with dimmers designed for incandescent lights. The fix is usually replacing the dimmer with an LED-compatible model or swapping the bulbs for a dimmable variety rated for your existing switch. Done can diagnose and solve it quickly.
Outdoor wiring must be protected from moisture. Fixture junction boxes need to be rated for wet or damp locations depending on exposure, conduit or direct-burial cable must be used for any underground runs, and GFCI protection is required for most exterior outlets and fixtures. Done handles all of this to code so your outdoor lighting holds up through Colorado’s weather.
