Emergency Electrical Service

Denver's 24/7 Emergency Electricians Since 1999

A burning smell from your electrical panel at 11 pm, a complete power loss that your utility confirms is not a neighborhood outage, sparks from an outlet you can’t shut off — these are not situations where you should wait until morning. Done has provided 24/7 emergency electrical service to Denver metro homeowners since 1999. When you call, a real person answers, and we dispatch a licensed electrician as quickly as possible.

Our emergency electricians carry the equipment to handle the most common urgent electrical situations on the first visit — panel emergencies, dangerous wiring faults, partial power loss, and more. If your situation also involves a backup power concern, learn about our generator and backup power services. For non-urgent electrical needs, our full list of electrical services is available anytime. Call 833-539-9153 now if you need immediate help.

  • Truly 24/7 Response Done answers calls and dispatches electricians around the clock — nights, weekends, and holidays. Real availability, not an answering service that books you for the next morning.
  • Licensed Electricians Every emergency call is handled by a licensed electrician qualified to diagnose and repair complex electrical problems safely under pressure.
  • Denver Metro Coverage We serve the full Denver metro area including surrounding communities. When you call, we tell you honestly how quickly we can reach you.

Emergency Situations

Electrical Emergencies That Require Immediate Help

If you're experiencing any of the following, stop using the affected area and call Done at 833-539-9153 right away.

  • Burning Smell or Visible Scorching

A burning smell from an outlet, switch, panel, or ceiling fixture — or any discoloration or scorch marks on electrical devices — is a potential fire hazard. Turn off the circuit if you can safely do so and call immediately.

  • Sparks or Arcing

Visible sparks from an outlet, panel, or appliance connection that won't stop indicate dangerous arcing. Do not use the affected outlet or device. If the sparking is inside the panel, do not open it — call us.

  • Partial or Full Power Loss

If your utility confirms no outage in your area but part or all of your home is without power, the problem is inside your home — possibly a failed main breaker, a loose service connection, or a significant wiring fault.

  • Electrical Contact With Water

Flooding, pipe bursts, or storm water that has reached electrical panels, outlets, or wiring creates an immediate shock and fire risk. Do not enter standing water in a room with live electrical equipment — call us first.

Emergency Services

What Our Emergency Electricians Handle

Done's emergency electricians are equipped and licensed to address the full range of urgent electrical situations.

  • Panel & Breaker Emergencies Failed main breakers, panels that won't reset, overheating service panels — we diagnose and address panel emergencies safely, including coordinating with your utility when the situation requires it.
  • Dangerous Outlet & Wiring Faults Arcing outlets, melted wiring, and failed junction box connections are handled on the spot. We isolate the fault, make the repair, and restore safe power to the affected circuits.
  • Storm & Water Damage Assessment After flooding or storm damage, we assess which circuits and devices are safe to restore, which need replacement, and what documentation you need for your insurance claim.
  • Emergency Electrical Diagnosis Sometimes the emergency is 'something is wrong but I don't know what.' Our electricians are trained diagnostic problem-solvers who can find the source of the problem fast — even when it's not obvious.

What to Expect

How Our Emergency Response Works

In an electrical emergency, every minute matters. Here's exactly what happens when you call Done.

  1. Call 833-539-9153

A real person answers your call at any hour. Describe what you're experiencing — we may give you immediate safety guidance (like which breaker to switch off) while we dispatch an electrician to your home.

  2. Electrician En Route

We dispatch the nearest available licensed electrician immediately. You'll receive an ETA and, in most cases, a call from the electrician before they arrive.

  3. Rapid Diagnosis & Safety First

Our electrician's first priority is making your home safe — isolating the hazard if needed — before diagnosing the root cause and explaining what they found.

  4. Repair & Restore

We repair what we can on the spot. If the scope requires additional parts or a follow-up visit, we'll tell you honestly and make sure your home is as safe as possible before we leave.

A very experienced, professional and skilled team of Caedon, Tyler, James and Eli re-wired the main floor of our 100+ year old home when a small electrical fire was found during a diagnostic visit meant to trouble shoot a malfunctioning bedroom ceiling light.

The team was extremely thorough and corrected several wiring errors that had been done over the past 100 years - some due to code changes and some due to shoddy, cutting-corners-work done on a 10 year old remodel. The project took two days, and included breaker panel additions, discovering buried outlets, and eliminating live sections of wire no longer being used. The team cleaned up the work space every day and patched wall areas that were cut in an attempt to locate buried outlets. With every discovery, the situation was explained in depth and at the level where we could understand the issue.

We have used Done for large plumbing, and now, large electrical work and have been 1000% satisfied with every interaction.

Done is always super quick to send someone out to help me with the problem at hand. Cason was here within an hour or two of the call. She was very professional and took the time to answer all of my questions. She even pointed out several things for me to be aware of/make sure I check regularly to avoid disaster. We have used Done several times so far and will continue to do so, I would highly recommend both Done and Cason. We’ve also really loved working with Dylan, DJ and Aaron (heating).

New Review 12/12/25: Done offers a free electrical inspection for their members and sent Javier out to my house. He was amazing - he encouraged me to follow him around my home during his entire visit so he could teach me about my home, give advice, answer questions, and suggest best practices. It was determined that my 33 year old electrical panel was on its way out and needed replacement. While it wasn't cheap, I felt confident after spending 2 hours with Javier that he knew what he was talking about and that he would take great care in replacing everything correctly and with great attention to detail. Javier is warm, respectful, knowledgable, and makes you feel like family - I will request him for anything electrical in my home from now on and would recommend him to anyone.

We are so pleased and grateful to have come across Done. The sheathing covering the wiring going into our electrical box had pulled away exposing live wires. We called Done and electricians Jeff and James came out to give us an estimate. This repair is not inexpensive, and Jeff went over all the details of the project, the upgrade to our panel the grounding that would bring our electrical system up to code and the approvals that would be required from the county. We scheduled the work and Jeff and James came back and completed everything in one day. We couldn't be happier. In addition to the professionalism of the two guys they were also very personable and fun. Perhaps personable and fun are not necessarily requirements to getting the work done, those attributes go a long way in making you feel they genuinely care. I would highly recommend Done and we will continue to use them for our electrical and plumbing needs in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I call an emergency electrician versus waiting until morning?

Call immediately if you smell burning, see sparks or scorching, have power loss your utility can’t explain, or suspect water has reached your electrical system. These are fire and shock hazards that get worse if ignored. A breaker that tripped once and reset cleanly, or a single dead outlet, can usually wait for a next-day appointment — but if you’re unsure, call us and describe what you’re seeing. We’ll tell you honestly whether it’s urgent.

Is there an extra charge for after-hours emergency service?

We provide upfront pricing before any work begins, so you’ll know the cost before we start — no surprise invoices after the fact. Call 833-539-9153 and we’ll be transparent about pricing when we discuss your situation.

What should I do while waiting for the emergency electrician to arrive?

If you can safely access your electrical panel, turn off the breaker for the affected area. Do not use any outlets or switches in the problem area. If there is any smoke or you suspect active fire, leave the home and call 911 before calling us. If the panel itself is the source of the problem, do not open it — leave the home and let us handle it when we arrive.

Can Done help with storm damage to my electrical system?

Yes. Storm damage — including flooding, lightning strikes, and downed power lines that affect your service entrance — is exactly the kind of situation our emergency electricians handle. We assess what’s safe to restore, what needs to be replaced, and we can provide documentation to help with your homeowner’s insurance claim. Call 833-539-9153 any time.
