What is an electrical panel?

An electrical panel is a device that distributes electricity from the main power source to the different circuits in the home. It is also known as a circuit breaker panel or fuse box.

The main purpose of an electrical panel is to provide a safe way to distribute electricity throughout the home without overloading one circuit of the home. Within each electrical panel there are several circuit breakers which help distribute the power throughout your home.
