Faucet leaks at the spout or handle are typically worn cartridges, O-rings, or ceramic disc seals, all of which we stock for common fixture brands.

Colorado’s hard water accelerates wear on valve seats and cartridges by leaving mineral deposits that prevent a clean seal. If your faucet has been dripping for years, the seat itself may need resurfacing or the faucet body may be too corroded to re-seat reliably — our plumbers will tell you honestly whether a repair or replacement is the better value.

Pipe Leaks: In-Wall, Under-Slab, and in the Yard

Leaks inside walls or beneath concrete slabs are more involved but well within Done’s capabilities. We use electronic leak detection and thermal imaging to locate the failure point before opening anything, which keeps unnecessary demolition to a minimum. Copper pipe pinhole leaks — common in Denver homes with slightly acidic water — can sometimes be addressed with a repair coupling; widespread pitting may warrant repiping a section or the whole home with PEX.

Slab leaks deserve particular attention in Colorado. Expansive clay soils shift seasonally, stressing pipes that pass through or beneath the slab. A single event can crack a fitting or push a joint apart. Connection leaks are typically repaired same-day. A leaking tank body, however, means the heater has failed internally and needs replacement — there is no reliable repair for a corroded water heater tank. Drain and Sewer Leaks

Drain leaks range from a loose P-trap slip joint under a bathroom sink to a cracked sewer lateral buried in the yard. Done handles leaks across this full range:

  • P-trap and drain basket leaks under sinks and tubs
  • Leaking wax rings at toilet bases
  • ABS or PVC drain line cracks inside the home
  • Sewer line cracks or root intrusions in the yard (camera inspection, lining, or excavation)
  • Leaking cleanout caps and drain access points

Outdoor and Irrigation Leaks

Hose bib leaks are extremely common after Colorado winters — freeze-thaw cycles crack the packing or the bib body itself, and many older homes have standard (non-frost-free) bibs that were never designed for our climate. Done replaces standard bibs with frost-free models and repairs any supply line damage behind the wall. We also repair leaks at backflow preventers and pressure vacuum breakers on irrigation systems, which are code-required components that can develop seal failures after several seasons.

If a leak is actively running and you can’t shut it off at a fixture stop valve, locate your main shut-off (typically in a utility room, crawlspace, or near the water meter) and close it before calling.
