Air Duct Cleaning

Cleaner Ducts, Fresher Air, Healthier Home

Done's professional air duct cleaning removes years of accumulated dust, debris, and contaminants from your Denver home's ductwork — using truck-mounted vacuum systems and source-removal methods that actually work.

What's Inside Your Ducts

Your Ductwork Collects More Than Just Dust

Every cubic foot of air your HVAC system moves passes through your ductwork — along with whatever particles it carries. Over time, ducts accumulate dust, pet dander, mold spores, insulation fibers, and in Colorado, a surprising amount of construction debris from the original build. That buildup doesn’t just sit quietly: every time your system kicks on, it redistributes those particles through every room in your home. If someone in your household has asthma, allergies, or a compromised immune system, the condition of your ducts matters more than you might think.

Done has been cleaning air ducts for Denver metro families since 1999 using NADCA-standard source-removal methods — not the low-cost air-wash approach that simply blows debris further into your system. Our truck-mounted vacuum creates negative pressure inside your duct system while technicians agitate debris loose at every register. Learn more about our air duct cleaning process or call 833-539-9153 to schedule your cleaning.

  • Truck-Mounted Vacuum Systems Done uses powerful truck-mounted extraction equipment that creates true negative pressure in your duct system — pulling debris out rather than pushing it deeper in.
  • Source-Removal Method Our technicians agitate debris at every supply and return register before extraction, ensuring contaminants are loosened and captured — not just disturbed and redistributed.
  • System Protection Throughout We protect your HVAC equipment, registers, and furnishings throughout the cleaning process. When we leave, your home is cleaner — not dustier.

Is It Time for a Cleaning?

Signs Your Air Ducts Need Professional Cleaning

Duct cleaning isn't something every home needs every year. But certain conditions make a professional cleaning worthwhile — and in some situations, genuinely important for your family's health.

  • Recent Renovation or Construction

Construction generates enormous amounts of fine dust, drywall particles, and debris that find their way into duct systems. If you've had major work done, a post-renovation duct cleaning is one of the most practical things you can do.

  • Multiple Pets in the Home

Pet dander, hair, and the micro-debris pets track in accumulates in ductwork faster than in pet-free homes. Families with heavy pet traffic typically benefit from cleaning every three to five years.

  • Visible Mold Growth Near Registers

Mold visible at or around supply registers is a clear signal that the duct system needs inspection and cleaning. Done can identify the extent of growth and address it before it spreads further.

  • Worsening Allergy or Asthma Symptoms Indoors

If household members experience more respiratory symptoms at home than elsewhere — particularly when the HVAC system is running — heavily contaminated ductwork may be contributing to the problem.

What's Included

What Done's Duct Cleaning Service Covers

A Done duct cleaning is a complete service, not a race-to-the-door special. Here's exactly what our technicians do at every job.

Done HVAC technician installing an air filter into a Goodman furnace in a narrow Denver home closet with gas piping nearby.
  • Pre-Cleaning System Inspection Before we start, a technician inspects accessible ductwork and your air handler for mold, moisture problems, and any conditions that need to be addressed alongside the cleaning.
  • Negative Pressure Extraction We connect our truck-mounted vacuum to your duct system's main trunk to establish negative pressure throughout, then clean each supply and return branch individually.
  • Air Handler and Blower Cleaning The air handler, blower wheel, and evaporator coil access area are cleaned as part of every duct cleaning — because a clean coil and clean ducts work together, not independently.
  • Optional Sanitizing Treatment For homes with mold concerns, pet odors, or occupants with compromised immune systems, Done offers EPA-registered sanitizing treatments applied inside the duct system after cleaning.

Our Process

How a Done Duct Cleaning Works, Step by Step

We're upfront about what we do and how long it takes. A typical whole-home duct cleaning for a single-family Denver home takes three to five hours — not 45 minutes.

  1. Inspection and Setup

Our technician inspects your duct system, identifies any problem areas, and sets up truck-mounted vacuum equipment before any cleaning begins. Registers and furniture are protected.

  2. Negative Pressure Extraction

We connect the vacuum to your main trunk line and establish negative pressure throughout the system. This ensures that debris we loosen gets pulled out — not pushed back into your living spaces.

  3. Branch-by-Branch Agitation and Cleaning

Technicians work through every supply and return register, using air whips, brushes, and contact vacuuming to loosen and extract accumulated debris from duct walls.

  4. Final Inspection and System Restart

After cleaning, we do a final inspection, reinstall all registers, clean up our work area, and restart your HVAC system. We walk you through what we found and what we did before we leave.

Had an excellent experience with It's Done Plumbing and Jake the technician. He showed up early, gave me an accurate estimate and finished the job to my complete satisfaction. Will definitely use their services again. 9/08/21 Had another plumbing issue and call Done again. Superb service. Caleb and Dalton did a terrific job. Fast, thorough, clean and helpful. I won't even consider calling anyone else. 2/7/23 Jared from Done came and cleared a slow basement drain. Quick, professional and left no mess. Done is the only plumbing service I use. Always satisfied. 3/1/24 I was considering having a tankless hot water system installed. I reached out to Done! to see about an estimate. The price was higher than I can afford right now. The price is in line with what others are charging. I didn't have any ideas going in, so this is not a knock on Done! Tankless systems are expensive. I never felt any pressure from the tech. He was professional and courteous. 4/21/26 Decided to have a preemptive cable clean out due to some roots from a holly plant. We weren't having an issue, just decided to stay ahead of it. Jason was quick, courteous and efficient. A good experience. 6/24/26 The fixture in the shower failed internally. It wouldn't allow the water to shut off. Dan fixed it in less than an hour. Completely satisfied, as usual. Done is reliable and reasonably priced. What more could you ask from a company? 8/9/26 The washing machine drain hose empties into a PVC pipe that then empties into the main drain. There was a clog somewhere. Done Plumbing sent Matthew out to clear it. He succeeded quickly and completely. The price was less than I imagined it would be. Completely satisfied, as usual. 8/17/26 The previous issue with the washer drain stand pipe was more complicated than it seemed. Turns out, the cast iron pipe under the basement floor had degraded to the point where the water drained very slowly. Justin identified the most efficient approach, both in cost and in time, to repair the issue. The concrete work was done on a single day, with minimal disruption to my household. Justin was terrific from start to finish. He kept me informed every step of the way. Done has always treated me fairly and quickly solved my plumbing issues. Highly recommended. Justin is the man!

I have been meaning to write this review for a bit. I found out about Done when I was at my friend's house where her sewer line was being cleaned out. I was impressed with Chris the technician and told him I planned to have some water faucets replaced at my house, including the old cold water shutoffs. I requested him for that work and everything turned out well. He coordinated with the city I live in to get the main water turned on/off, etc. More recently, Sean came over to do a tune-up on my A/C system outdoors. The twenty-two year old fan was making noise and the breaker and dual capacitor were also replaced. He also checked general function. Both Chris and Sean were professional and no call backs were needed. Additional Service on 8-4-26: Darrell came by to do a hot water flush for their $99 Special and I appreciated his detailed and careful approach when flushing my older 50 gallon water heater. He also provided quotes if I should decide to replace it soon with another tank water heater or a tankless version. He related how the tankless water heater might be installed. I could tell that he was one of their more experienced Plumbers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I have my air ducts cleaned?

The EPA and NADCA generally recommend duct cleaning every three to five years for typical homes, or sooner following events like renovation, fire or smoke damage, mold discovery, or moving into a previously owned home with unknown maintenance history. Homes with pets, smokers, or occupants with respiratory conditions may benefit from more frequent cleaning. A Done technician can give you a realistic recommendation based on what they see during inspection.

How is Done's duct cleaning different from cheaper services I see advertised?

Many low-cost duct cleaning offers — often under $100 for the whole house — use portable vacuums and compressed air to blow debris through your system rather than extract it. Done uses truck-mounted vacuum equipment that creates genuine negative pressure throughout your duct system, combined with source-removal agitation at every register. It takes longer and costs more than a blow-and-go service, but it actually removes contaminants rather than redistributing them. Learn more about our full ductwork services.

Will duct cleaning help with musty smells coming from my vents?

It depends on the source. Musty odors from vents are most often caused by mold or bacteria growth in the duct system, on the evaporator coil, or in the air handler — all of which Done cleans as part of our service. In cases of active mold growth, we may also recommend a sanitizing treatment. If odors persist after cleaning, an IAQ assessment may identify additional sources like the coil or drain pan.

Do I need to be home for a duct cleaning?

Yes — we require an adult to be present for the duration of the service. Duct cleaning requires access to your air handler, all supply and return registers, and usually your attic or crawl space. The job typically takes three to five hours for a standard single-family home. We give you a scheduling window and call before arrival so you can plan your day. Book online or call 833-539-9153 and we’ll find a time that works for you.
